St Nicholas Children's Party (December 2011)

On 10th December 2011, we organised a children's party in honour of St Nicholas of Myra, also called the Wonderworker and the Almsgiver.  We know very little of St Nicholas' life, but we do know that he gave money to young girls so that they would not be forced into prostitution, and also that he rescued many children from pirates and slavers who sought to sell them into slavery and worse.  For this reason, he is venerated particularly as the protector of children.
